That\u2019s called \u201crepurposing\u201d and with minimal effort, you create a piece of content for a whole new platform! <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So how exactly do you go about repurposing your broadcasts?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\"><i>Disclaimer: All of the steps below are done on mobile but you can follow them on your laptop as well!<\/i><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Step #1: Download Your Facebook Lives<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">First things first. Let\u2019s download the videos you want to repurpose. You can either:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">download them directly through Facebook (though the platform naturally diminishes the quality of the broadcast, so avoid that if you can)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">OR <\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>save them at the end of the broadcast<\/strong> \u2014 Facebook will give you this option when your Livestream finishes. If you just finished shooting a Facebook Live, it most probably is. So <strong>in order to make it Instagram appealing, you need to turn the format into Portrait. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">How can you do that? Next: import the Landscape footage of your video. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em><strong>The app will automatically turn your video into a Vertical one and it will give you a blurred-out look on the sides.<\/strong> <\/em>You can also add stickers and other cool features to make your video more fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Then simply click on the right-hand corner and save the video to your phone! That\u2019s it! Now your video is Instagram-friendly and the only thing left to do is upload it there! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b><i>PRO Tip: Play with different formats. <\/i><\/b><em>Do a Facebook Live vertically. It\u2019s performing really well right now because people are consuming more and more content on mobile. And as they\u2019re scrolling through their feed, if your video takes more space, they\u2019re more likely to take a look.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Step #4: Upload Your Video to Instagram<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>It\u2019s time to upload your video to IGTV!<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When you open your Instagram profile, right next to your username, you\u2019ll see <strong>a + sign<\/strong>. Click it and you\u2019ll get the option to <strong>create an IGTV video.<\/strong>\u00a0 Once you select that, you\u2019ll be able to choose the video you want to load.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When you have your video in place, you can <strong>choose a custom thumbnail for the cover of your IGTV episode<\/strong> or you can select a specific screenshot that presents you in the best light possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Then go to <strong><em>\u201cNext\u201d<\/em>.<\/strong> There you\u2019ll see the option to <strong>create a \u201ctitle\u201d and a \u201cdescription\u201d.<\/strong> Make the <strong>title<\/strong> as compelling as you can because it\u2019s the first thing people will see and they\u2019ll make a split-second decision to either watch the video or not based on it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As for the <strong>description<\/strong> \u2014 it resembles a regular caption on Instagram, so make sure it\u2019s interesting and use emojis to make it more fun. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Step #5: Promote Your IGTV<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-15530\" src=\"https:\/\/my.networkersjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Be-yourself-and-you-will-be-in-fashion-always-683x1024-1.png\" alt=\"repurpose\" width=\"350\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/my.networkersjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Be-yourself-and-you-will-be-in-fashion-always-683x1024-1.png 683w, https:\/\/mylifestyleacademy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Be-yourself-and-you-will-be-in-fashion-always-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/mylifestyleacademy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Be-yourself-and-you-will-be-in-fashion-always-768x1151.png 768w, https:\/\/mylifestyleacademy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Be-yourself-and-you-will-be-in-fashion-always-640x959.png 640w, https:\/\/mylifestyleacademy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Be-yourself-and-you-will-be-in-fashion-always.png 854w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Congratulations! <strong>You now have your IGTV episode ready to go!<\/strong> But if you want to get as many eyes on it as you possibly can with the least amount of effort, here are 3 tips you can implement right away!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Tip #1: 1-min Preview <\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As you\u2019re uploading your video, you\u2019ll notice an option that says <em><strong>\u201cShare Preview to Feed\u201d.<\/strong> <\/em>When you turn it on, <em><strong>you will get a 1-min preview that will show up on your newsfeed.<\/strong> <\/em>So even if someone comes to your profile long after the video has been uploaded, they can still see it! In fact, this feature is the reason why IGTV started blowing up in the first place! <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Tip #2: Hashtags <\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em><strong>They work the same way as hashtags do on a regular post.<\/strong><\/em> Use as many of them as you can (20-25 would be optimum) and make sure they\u2019re relevant to the topic you\u2019re discussing. Add them as a first comment, so they don\u2019t overload your description. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Tip #3: Stories <\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Now that your IGTV is Live, go to it and <em><strong>click the \u201cairplane\u201d icon that\u2019s next to the \u201cheart\u201d and \u201ccomment\u201d buttons.<\/strong> <\/em>It will give you the option to <em><strong>\u201cAdd Video to Your Story\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. Just click on that and you\u2019re done!
