Are you curious to know how you can use Facebook or Instagram Stories? And do you want to know how they can make a difference in your business? If you haven’t been using this magical story-telling feature and if you’re ready to take your story-telling to the next level, you’re going to love today’s insights!

Inside this article, we’re going to take a look at 9 ways you can use Stories for your business – how to grab your lead’s attention, build their fascination, involve them in your content, and soon, get them begging you to join! Are you ready? Let’s get right to it!

9 Ways To Use Stories For Your Business

People remember stories 22X more than facts. And that’s a fact!

So any time you want to pass a message onto your audience, do it in the form of a story!

Stories also give you better visibility! Because when you post a Story, you show up on the top of people’s feed. And if you’ve interacted with them recently, you’ll show up first!

Additionally, Stories allow you to be as messy as you’d like because they go away in 24 hours!

PRO TIP: Stick to the 1/24 Rule — post at least 1 Story per day, so that your bubble stays on people’s feed.

    The ACC Formula:

It stands for Attract, Connect and Convert (if there is a need, of course). It’s what every network marketer hopes to achieve on Social Media. So how is ACC connected to Storytelling?

It’s simple. When you post a Story on Facebook or Instagram, you’re inviting people into your everyday life. There’s something very intimate about it, and people LOVE that! After all, we know people do business with people they know, like and trust, right? Stories give you the opportunity to fast forward the relationship!

IMP: These tips can really elevate your Storytelling skills, but remember that moderation is the basis for success. Don’t overdo it with one or two tips. What you want to do is mix it up and keep it fresh!

9 Ideas to Use Storytelling for Business

    #1: Be Funny

Nothing can boost your business more than bringing joy and laughter to your audience. We always say that Funny = Money, and it’s true! Nothing can kill your business faster than being rigid and putting people to sleep.

Did you know that on average, children laugh 400 times a day, while we, adults, laugh only 20? How sad is that? And 90% of people on Social Media are b-o-r-e-d! So when you become the one who brings a smile to their face, they’ll remember and love you for it. And that’s all we’re looking for, right?

    #2: Behind The Scenes

Take people on the journey with you!  You can show them what’s happening with you just before you go Live or before you go on stage during an event. Or how about you take people shopping, and show them how you do your meal prep for the week? Give them a “behind-the-curtains” look at your business. Play with this. Everything is an experiment!

Here’s a great way to think about what you do. It’s: Reality TV + #BFFlife.

We often take the way we live for granted and that everyone lives like us. But that’s not the case in most situations. So stop thinking like a consumer and start thinking like a marketer!

    #3: Inspire Them

This might sound a little intimidating but don’t worry. We’re not asking you to give a whole speech. Just think of your favorite quote, something that gets your creative energy flowing, and share it with your audience 15 seconds at a time. They’ll love it!

    #4: Show Your Lifestyle

People absolutely love to know what’s happening in the life of someone they are interested in. So give them a sneak peek into what it’s like to be you! It can be a vacation, or going to your kids’ game or simply going to the gym in the middle of the day when everyone else is at work.

If you think you don’t have too many things to show, that’s all right. You don’t have to use this tip every day. But take people with you whenever you can and they’ll love it!

    #5: Content from Other Influencers

Did you know that you can add the content you’ve posted on your feed to your Story?

Just go to the piece of content that you like and click on the little airplane icon. Instagram will give you an option to share it to your Story.

And you can do the same with other people’s content! How cool is that? You’ll be able to still provide value to your audience, even if you don’t have brand new ideas!

IMP: Always remember to tag the person whose content you’re sharing. That way, not only will you give them the well-deserved credit, but they’ll also get to see your Story. And who knows, they might even decide to re-post it for their audience to see!

    #6: Share A Good Story

What’s the fastest way to learn something? Through a story. We remember them because we feel connected to them. That’s why it’s so amazing when you tell your audience one of your stories.

It can be something intimate, personal, or funny, or just something that happened at work and you learned a lesson from it.

And if you can’t think of something that happened to you, why not share the story of one of your customers? If you already did that, and you’re wondering what else you can share – how about a lesson from a podcast you’ve listened to?

    #7: Time-Sensitive Information

The way that the algorithm is set up right now is not optimal for sharing time-sensitive information. After all, it may take a long time for your audience to see what you’ve posted on your feed (if they see it at all).

So if you’re promoting an event or you have a giveaway that’s ending in 24 hours, use Stories!

PRO Tip: Never say the name of the company or the product!

    #8: Business Tips

People love getting tips and tricks. You don’t have to create something long or complicated. Just think of what tips might have been useful for you to know about a certain topic, and share them with your audience. That’s it!

    #9: Direct Promotional Posts

You are in business. So you’re allowed to do direct promotional posts! And Stories is a great way to expose people to what you have to offer!

PRO Tip: If you’re not sure what kind of a promotional post would do well on your feed, test a few options in Stories and see which one does better!

    Bonus Tip: Engage with People

Did you know that you can see who’s watching your Stories?

That’s right! You can swipe up and see who those people are. Then you can just drop them a Personal (or a Direct) Message and start a casual conversation with them. The algorithm will love that and you’ll boost your business!

Alternatively, you can go to these people’s profiles and like and comment on their posts. It’s the Law of Reciprocity – the more you give to people, the more people will give back to you!

    Ninja Tip: Give To Give

How often do we give to get? And is that allowed? Of course, it is. But if you do it all the time, you’ll sound like an infomercial.

So switch things up and give to give. That’s right! Give for the sake of giving and see what happens. When you bring free value to your audience, they’re much more likely to reach out to you and do business with you.

If people are thinking about you every day because of your videos, posts or Stories, you’re on the right path!

These are some of our favorite ways you can use Stories for your business! Which types of Stories are you already using and which tip will you implement? Let us know in the comments!
